Victoria Elizabeth Wells known as, Torri, a beloved sister, family member and friend to many welcomed her transition from labor to reward July 12, 2019 at the age of 60. Family and friends will miss her as we are honored to celebrate a wonderful and well-lived life…, which she lived on her own terms.

Torri was the eldest of three children: she was born June 18, 1959 in Oakland, California to the late Lawrence L Sr. and Dorothy Wells.  Torri along with brothers Lawrence L Wells Jr. (Larry) and Christopher Edward Wells enjoyed a remarkable childhood filled with love and empowerment that was fully embraced by a village of family and lifelong friends.

Torri grew up in the El Cerrito/Richmond, California area where she attended Madera Elementary, Adams Jr. High, and Presentation High School. She received her Bachelor of Science in Health Science from California State University, Hayward, and Master of Arts in Organization Management from the University of Phoenix. She enjoyed track, cheerleading, along with African, Tahitian, modern, and tap dancing. She spent several years as a member of the Eastern Star youth group where she held several leadership roles. She also volunteered as a teacher of arts and crafts for the Berkeley YMCA. Sewing, arts and crafts were some of her hobbies.  These activities helped to develop her leadership skills and compassion for others allowing her to continue her parent’s legacy of enriching lives.

Torri’s career of over 25 years at Apple Computer in Cupertino California was a major part of her life.  She was a hard worker and leader in every aspect of her job.  She retired and was able to settle down and enjoy life in San Jose. She spent much time on home improvements, gardening and building a beautiful environment she called home.

Adventure, embracing the community and enjoying extended family, are three of the Wells family core values, which became a major part of Torri’s life story.

She grew up with the Consort of the Bay Area, an organization based on family development and support. The Wells family along with the Consort spent much time traveling the world, camping, skiing, enjoying family gatherings and contributing to community philanthropy.

She was a member of the San Francisco South Bay Area Fire and Ice Ski Club.  This organization supports the efforts of the National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS); the members of this Club were a very important part of her extended family. Torri held several leadership roles including Trip Leader and Youth group coordinator.  She along with the club members skied, sailed, white water rafted, and traveled the world.

Closer to home, were her Hillcrest neighbors, friends, and dog lovers who enjoy neighborhood gatherings, walking their dogs, and supporting one another.

Torri leaves to celebrate her life two loving brothers, Larry and Chris; Uncle, John L. House II; cousins, John L. House III, Terri Mason-Evans, Phillip House, Kisha House, Sabrina House and a host of family and friends
